A Kashmir backpacking trip from Delhi by train or bus to Jammu, then on to Pahalgam and Srinagar. From Pahalgam you see the Aru, Betaab and Chandanwari valleys, then base in Srinagar for day trips to Gulmarg and Sonmarg.
The last full day is Srinagar sightseeing with a 1-hour Shikara ride and a night on a houseboat. In winter, expect snowy valleys, sledging and skiing in Gulmarg, and the Gulmarg Gondola, the world's second-highest cable car, which is paid separately.
