A winter road trip through Kinnaur and Spiti, the cold desert valley between Tibet and India. After an overnight Volvo from Delhi to Shimla, you drive to Sangla and Chitkul, then via Nako to Tabo, and on through Dhankar to Kaza.

From Kaza you visit Key Monastery, Chicham Bridge and the high villages of Hikkim, Komic and Langza, then cross to Kalpa via Gue Monastery before returning to Shimla and Delhi. Expect snow-covered landscapes, frozen rivers and ancient monasteries known for their murals.
