KonfHub vs Townscript for an independent organiser
Townscript publishes a 2% organiser fee plus a separate 2% gateway fee, with a further 2% charged to the buyer, and its own example nets ₹946.80 from a ₹1,000 ticket. KonfHub publishes 2% plus GST on Lite, which is UPI-only, and 3.75% plus GST on Silver, which it states is inclusive of payment gateway charges. The comparison is one all-in rate against a stack of three.
Both of these are real answers for an independent organiser in India, and both publish their pricing openly, which is more than most of this market does. Which one is cheaper flips on whether your gateway charge is inside the rate. The figures below are the vendors' own, and neither of them loses here to some third product.

From the footnotes: ₹10 per additional attendee beyond the plan limit, no setup fee and no annual maintenance charge, and non-INR tickets on Silver at 5% plus GST. Settlement is weekly on Thursdays, and KonfHub is specific about the window: transactions from Monday midnight to Sunday night settle the following Thursday at end of business. The gateway fee is organiser-selectable, with the on-page calculator offering Organizer or Participants, and at its default a ₹100 ticket shows a total of ₹104.43 to the buyer with ₹100.00 estimated earnings.
Townscript
From Townscript's pricing page with India and INR selected, same day. Townscript does the arithmetic itself on a ₹1,000 ticket:
- A 2% Townscript fee, ₹23.60 with GST, from the organiser.
- A 2% payment gateway fee, ₹23.60, also from the organiser.
- A 2% platform fee, ₹23.60, added to the buyer's price.
- ₹5 of TCS at 0.5% and ₹1 of TDS at 0.1%, deducted from the payout.
- Buyer pays ₹1,023.60. Organiser receives ₹946.80.
One all-in rate against a stack of three
Put side by side, 2% looks cheaper than 3.75% and is not, because they are not measuring the same thing. KonfHub's Silver rate states that it includes the payment gateway charge. Townscript's 2% sits next to a second 2% for the gateway.

Two structural differences sit underneath the rates. KonfHub prices per event with a registration cap per plan, so a 400-person event on Lite is not on Lite, it is on Silver. Townscript prices per transaction with no cap. And KonfHub's Lite plan is UPI-only, which is either exactly right for an Indian audience or a dealbreaker for a corporate one expecting to put a conference ticket on a company card.

Pick KonfHub if
- You run a small or mid-sized event and want one rate that already contains the gateway charge, so the invoice is predictable.
- Your audience pays by UPI and the Lite plan's UPI-only limit costs you nothing.
- You want the gateway fee visibly passed to attendees, which the pricing calculator supports directly.
- A fixed Thursday settlement suits you better than a schedule you have to choose.
Pick Townscript if
- You are running events well past 2,500 registrations, where KonfHub's per-event caps push you into custom pricing anyway.
- You want faster settlement than weekly and qualify for the daily option.
- Marketplace discovery matters to you, and being findable on a platform buyers already browse is part of what you are buying.
- You need payment methods beyond UPI at the entry tier.
Common questions
Is KonfHub or Townscript cheaper?
It depends on what is inside the rate. KonfHub's Silver plan is 3.75% plus 18% GST and states that it includes payment gateway charges. Townscript charges 2% plus a separate 2% gateway fee on the organiser and adds a 2% platform fee to the buyer's price, and its own example nets an organiser ₹946.80 from a ₹1,000 ticket.
Does KonfHub charge for free events?
Its Freemium plan is 0% and allows only free tickets, capped at 100 registrations per event, with ₹10 charged per additional attendee beyond the plan limit. Paid tickets move you onto a paid plan.
When does KonfHub pay out?
Weekly on Thursdays. KonfHub states that all transactions from Monday 12:00 AM to Sunday 11:59 PM in a week are settled on the following Thursday, end of business, directly to the organiser's bank account.
Can I pass the payment fee to attendees on either platform?
KonfHub's pricing calculator has a control asking who pays the payment gateway fee, with Organizer and Participants as the options. Townscript's published structure already charges a 2% platform fee to the buyer on top of the ticket price, separate from the fees on the organiser side.
Which one supports non-INR tickets?
KonfHub publishes a rate for it: non-INR tickets on the Silver plan are 5% plus GST per ticket. Townscript's India and INR pricing view does not publish a separate non-INR rate, so check it against the pricing page for your own region setting.
